Chief technology officer for E-commerce project

We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced high-tech professional, who is willing to contribute to development, adoption and success of digital platform supporting all operations of our e-commerce project.

CTO role includes:

  • Work closely with the CEO and the rest of company team to develop and support the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company
  • Recruit top developers and e-commerce specialists
  • Develop an architecture of the platform (back/front-office and clients’ apps)
  • Suggest options for the platform (in-house vs off-shelf vs outsourced) and assess them with the executive team
  • Oversee implementation of the platform
  • Design, develop and support top-notch back/front-office platforms to ensure smooth, secure and effective operations of crypto-broker
  • Deliver high-class web and mobile applications for firm’s clients Build bridges and network with blockchain community
CTO requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related technical discipline or a demonstrated track record in software development
  • Experience in a technical leadership/authority role
  • Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy
  • Ability to conduct technological analyses and research
  • IT architecture development skills
  • Fundamental tech engineering background
  • Preferably developer in the past
  • Previous experience in development of similar platforms or marketplaces plus back-office solutions
  • Coding Skills - senior level in at least two of the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, Go, Python, Javascript, Objective C
  • Problem-solving attitude and willingness to be hands-on when required
  • Great communicator, both written and oral (English is a must, German is a plus)
  • Ability to negotiate pricing, contracts and vendors
  • Project management skills, including experience in managing projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc...)

The website was launched in October 2012. The vision was to create an analytical website focusing on information and organisational support for timber trading. We started with providing insider analyses of China's main timber markets provides access to real-time prices of over 300 timber commodities on three of China’s main markets: Manzhouli, Suifenhe and Shanghai. Since 2012, has facilitated the sale of 565 thousand cubic metres of timber products on the Chinese market for a total worth of USD 78.5 million.

In 2018 we decided to incorporate a company 100m3 AG in Switzerland to establish and drive forward a B2B e-commerce platform dedicated to timber trading. The platform will become a key business tool for entrepreneurs who are active on the timber markets (timber producers, craftsmen, construction companies, etc.), providing an initial base processing infrastructure by cooperating with leading timber market players, logistic companies, banks and other payment providers within Switzerland and Western Europe.
